Is It Spring Yet??

Well the calendar says it’s March in two days, and this has been the harshest winter I can remember in recent years, so I’m REALLY looking forward to Spring. Looking out the window I know it will be a while before we can see the green grass and spring flowers, and I can’t wait! So, to improve my mood I want to bring some Springtime into my home NOW. If you’d like to do the same, here are a few ways to do that.

Bring in colour!

Add colour to your space, subtly through throw pillows, throws, artwork, or go all out and paint and accent wall or piece of furniture. Pantone’s colour of the year, Living Coral, is a beautiful, warm, happy colour that is showing everywhere right now.

I personally love it in accessories, but you might love to come home to a wall painted in this colour…remember paint is the cheapest and quickest way to make a major impact!

Add fresh flowers!

Nothing says Spring like fresh flowers! Daffodils, hyacinths, crocuses and my favourite, tulips, are all in all the grocery stores at the moment. Place them in your entrance way, coffee table, dining table or kitchen island and you’ll smile everytime you look at them!

Host a dinner party!

During a long, harsh winter people tend to hibernate, so it may have been a while since you’ve gotten together with friends. Invite them over for a Springtime Dinner Party! Set the table with colourful tableware and some fresh flowers. Buy some little succulent pots at the grocery store, and put them at each place setting for your guests to take home some Springtime of their own. Serve lighter wines like Sauvignon Blanc, French Burgundy, Rose or Prosecco. Here’s a light and easy dinner menu that I think would be perfect, a nice change from all the heavy foods we tend to eat in the winter…enjoy! Before we know it, Spring will be here!
